Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Pool & Spa Operator Certification

Sunset Pools is an authorized provider of the PHTA Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO) certification program.  CPO certification provides individuals with the knowledge, techniques, and skills required to execute proper pool operations.

Sunset Pools’ courses satisfy Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-mandated job requirements and state, county, and city regulatory requirements.

Course participants will learn how to:

• Reduce water hazard risks near swimming pools
• Prevent drowning, recreational water illness, suction entrapment, evisceration, diving accidents, electrocutions, chemical hazards, and slips and falls
• Address regulatory guidelines
• Maintain disinfection and water chemical balance
• Manage water chemical problems
• Perform troubleshooting, chemical testing, and record keeping
• Manage chemical feed

CPO course completion will provide:

• 2-year CPO Certification
• Access to additional pool service and maintenance certifications
